SMPEarth was a survival multiplayer server created by Chip (they/them), Wilbur Soot (he/him) and JoshA20 (he/him).
It was the spiritual successor to SMPLive, and had 60+ creators playing on a 1:3000 recreation map of the earth, creating nations and having wars.
The lore of the server was revealed over the course of two ARGs, the 7 ARG and Octangula ARG.
The server's lore states that SMPEarth was a simulation created by the company Laramie Online, and was meant to have shut down.
An employee of Laramie, Mariah Camrey, disappeared, and it turns out that Laramie had attempted to murder her.
SMPEarth is one of 7 "nodes" that Mariah was suspected to be found in, and is also able to be used to communicate with her search party.
